Absolutely briliant book!!!
I loved the style it was written in I could actually imagine that Greg was a real person, it must have been based on one. I especially liked the bit where rowley was forced to actually eat the cheese even though it doesn't actually say that!

Well i really enjoyed this book since there are pictures; that give you a good understanding of what is going on.At the start he talks about the only reason he is writing in the diary is when he's older he would become famos. Towards the end he trys to get the class clown in the year book under his name. But insted his best friend get's it. My favorite part of the book is when he does the school play as a tree and doesn't sing the sond and the other trees follow. Sun 5th Jul 2009

Very funny at SOME times, the characters are very likeable (his little goofy brother is my favourite character). The only reason I didn't give it ten was because it was slightly repetitive and some parts are not funny. Mon 29th Jun 2009

When I first started to look at 'Diary Of A Wimpy Kid' the cover didn't really attract me but it was good enough to make read the blurb. Actually it was the words 'Diary', 'Wimpy' and 'Cartoons'. But when I read the blurb it made me read the book because it had a extract from the book and that extract was one of the most funniest bits of the book. There are so many characters in this book so i'm only going to tell you the main characters and the ones the main character Greg talk about. Greg Heffley (The Main Character) Rowley Jefferson (Greg's Best Friend) Susan Heffley (Greg's Mum) Frank Heffley (Greg's Dad) Rodrick Heffley (Greg's Big Brother) Manny Heffley (Greg's Little Brother) I would say my favourte character is Manny because he NEVER gets in trouble. The storyline of the book is that a boy named Greg receives a Diary (which he calls his Journal so his dignity stays maintained). in his 'Diary' he writes his Wacky and his unsual life ith his best friend Rowley. But one day there a specail P.E lesson change their friendship. Highly Reccomed to people who want to have a laugh. Thanks For Reading Robert Mon 22nd Jun 2009

Diary of a wimpy kid is a first person diary style comedy about an american school child who finds himself going up to middle school and instantly adopts an atitude which does not reflect on his social position (a wimpy kid). In his sturggle to climb the slippery slope of popularity Greg finds himself being hunted by teens and persistantly harrased by the all round oddball "Fregley"
The main charictors (apart from Greg and Fregley) include,
Rowley Jefferson the dim witted best friend of Greg who often finds hiself helping Greg in his schemes,
Rodrick Heffley the older brother of Greg and the lead drummer in his band "Löded Diper" (spelt wrong),
Manny Heffley the yougest of the siblings who has a knak of getting into trouble and blaming it on someone else,
Other charictors include Mr and Mrs Heffley and uncle Charlie.
I like the first person style style of the book it really puts you in Gregs shoes, and the lined paper gives it a realistc feeling.
In Conclusion its a great book, a little short but none the less a funny timeless read which leaves yoy hungry for more.

'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' was a very interesting book. Firstly, I would like to talk about the front cover blurb. When I first saw the book it was very eye catching, so I wanted to read it after I finished the book I was reading. When I read the blurb I thought to myself that the book would be interesting, and it was because of all the illustrations they added, and the blurb described the wonderful things that were in it, but it did not give out too much detail so it did not spoil the book. Secondly, I would like to tell you what I thought about the book. I thought the book (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) was very interesting and funny. Funny because Greg (the boy that was writing the book) said some funny things in the book. Interesting because it was very detailed. The story is about a boy called Greg. Third of all, I would like to talk about the characters. Greg is very funny and is the brother of Manny and a friend to Rowley. Manny is Greg's little brother. Dad is Greg's dad. Mum is Greg's mum. Rowley is Greg's best freind that later on in the book splits up with Greg and goes with another friend. Overall the book was really and utterly fantastic. Fri 19th Jun 2009

'Diary of a Wimpy Kid': I thought this book was really funny and interesting to read because it sucked me in so quickly with the great cartoon illustrations and with short and snappy diary entries. The cover speaks for itself it's eye catching and straight away you know what the story is like. And its really good. The blurb was fantastic too, it tells you enough about the story. If I was in Greg's position in secondary school I wouldn't want to come to school and I would hope someone would help to stop it. I've never read a book set out like a diary but I think I enjoyed it more, it was quite a long book but it was easy to read. The ending was really good when he got 'the cheese touch' no one wanted to bully him anymore which was really good for him. I thought this book was one of the best I've ever read! Fri 19th Jun 2009

I liked the front cover for 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' a lot. It really stood out from all of the books for me because it was funny, interesting and very eye catching. It was the first book I read because as soon as I saw it is like it called to me, was taunting me making me want to read it... thank God the book told me to read it. Greg's best friend is called Rowley, he's weird and goofy but you can really need his help sometimes. Greg's little annoying brother who always gets his way is called Manny. He's a little devil inside but adorable on the outside. Rodrick is Greg's older brother he has got a band called The Loaded Dyper. Greg's mother is always trying to dance to Roderick's music and her dream is to be in his band some day. Last, but not least, Greg's dad, well the most annoying thing a dad can do is wake you up at 6.00am on the summer term every single day. It was the beginning of the year and Greg's Mum wants him to write a diary about his life. Greg wants to start fresh to just slide away from the geeks and be cool but with Rowley as a best friend that seems impossible. Poor Greg has to put up with Rowley and all Rowley wants to do is 'playyyy'. After a hard day of embarrassment he gets home and he's got the most annoying family ever known. If it's not his annoying brother Manny it's his hip mother or Rodrick teasing him plus an early bird of a father. I really enjoyed this book, it was my favourite book out of all of them, I would recommend it to everyone. Fri 19th Jun 2009

Diary of a Wimpy Kid, this was the first book I chose to read, because of the front cover, it is just so eye catching with the bright red colour, and also because of the blurb, because it gives you small snippets from the book. Greg Heffley (he is the main charcter) I like Greg as a character because he is always coming up with good ideas, for example running through a sprinkler to make it look like he had worked out. I don't want to give the story away, so I will only give you little snippets of the story. The story was about a young boy named Greg Heffley having fun with his friends, trying to get muscular and also trying to get famous in school. Overall, Diary of a Wimpy Kid was an excellent, interesting and funny book. Highly Recommended by myself! Fri 19th Jun 2009

I found 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' a very funny book. From the moment I first laid my eyes on it I knew it was going to be one of the best books I've ever read - it was hilarious! I think it was really attractive and appealing to me. Because the simple cartoon style was marvellous, also the illustrations used really did work. The main character was a boy called Greg who starts at a new school but things don't start off well for him... For a start he's stuck in a class surrounded by a group of children who are not very smart. Also 'the cheese touch' doesn't do him any favours! I found Greg a really amusing boy because of the way he tackles problems. For example, when it was Halloween Rowley (Greg's friend) got a costume and when they were sprayed his shield protected them. Overall this is absolutely fantastic - in fact it was perfect! Fri 19th Jun 2009

'Diary Of A Wimpy Kid' The cover was eye catching and was really set out like a journal so I thought that was a great choice for the type of book it is. The blurb gave snippets of speech from the book, but the snippets from the book was only the main characters Greg and Rowley. The main characters were Greg and Rowley, they were best freinds but sometimes Rowley got on Greg's nerves. The two boys met in infant school and grew up together. When Greg sometimes went over to Rowleys house to play computers games, he had to disguise the game in a baby's computer game so Rowley's dad didn't go on to the parenting site to see if he will allow it. The story was hilarious even the pictures! The best thing about it was that the whole book was really set out like a diary so it made it really come to life... I loved it! Overall I would recommend this fabulous book extremely high to others. Fri 19th Jun 2009

I thought that the front cover was really good. I liked the bright red colour and the cartoon person looked funny! This made me want to read the book. Greg is the wimpiest kid in the class and when he's at school he gets bullied. I felt sorry for him because no-one helped him when others teased him, not even his friends. His Mum gives him a journal and Greg draws cartoons about what happens to him. I thought the story was really sad even though the cartoon pictures of the characters were funny. I really enjoyed this book, I'd love to read it again! Fri 19th Jun 2009

As well as that I loved the pictures and the font of the writing because it made the book really look like a diary. The book Diary of a Wimpy Kid was unbelievably brilliant. Most of the time it showed the actions by describing what was happening, instead of telling us which made the book exciting. Every new bit I read I grew more and more keen to finish this exellent book. My heart raced thinking about every new wonderful but weird thing Greg was going to do next. Everytime I got closer and closer to the end of the book I couldn't wait to see what kind of ending was at the end of this book. First of all, I thought this book was WICKED and I loved every minute of it! To start off, I thought that this book was well written but not only well written very cool. Now I know why student's from other school's loved this book so much it's fantastic in so many ways. I especially thought that this book was very funny. What made it funny was the boy who's diary it was and his name is Greg, he was hilarious. The things he wrote in his diary just made me laugh especially the part when it was halloween and him and his friend got chased by these teenagers. I loved it! Anyway this book has great structure and lots of punctuation like really good books should have. I'm not saying that the other books haven't got lots of punctuation. This book just has slightly more. The plot of this book is really good and this WONDERFUL book is like, really good and I swear I really hope that this book wins the Southwark Book Awards and if it does I would be really happy and glad for this books author which is Jeff Kenney, but if it dosen't then I would always know that it is the best book I have ever read. Diary of a Wimpy Kid is an hilarious book. Greg has a " different" opinion and view on things. As soon as I read the blurb I couldn't wait to start. It is diffrent to the other books I read as it is set out in a diary format. There is not much of a story line as it is a diary. With events as well as feelings and emotions. I could almost certainly be sure that if it was written from Rodrick's view he would have told the events differently and made out for Greg to be the mean one. I strongly recommend this book because it is funny and humorous. The quote on the front of the book " a novel in cartoons" is extremely accurate. I have discovered that there is a sequal to Diary of a Wimpy Kid called Rodrick Rules. Thu 18th Jun 2009

Rodrick is very sneaky and can always fool greg into something to get in trouble.

This is a story about a boy called Greg (the main character). He has a wimpy life which makes the story so funny. Greg has an older brother who he doesn't get along with very well. Rodrick (Greg's older brother) played a horribe prank on Greg which Greg got in trouble for. Manny (Greg's younger brother) has always anoyed him and get him trouble Manny has never got in trouble. I thinnk that Greg's brothers do really funny things to Greg, and to make it even more funny, he has a dorky freind at school called Rowley! But seriously, how could Rowley betray his best friend? But their is something called the cheese touch which no one wants. If you get it than no one woud come near you which I think is a childish. At the end these bad teenagers force Greg and Rowley to eat the cheese for a punishment of what they did. The funny thing was that Greg said he was allergic to dairy (liying) so he didn't have to eat the cheese but Rowley did and after that the teenagers ran away. No one ever knew, well not yet.
Favourite
1. When ate the cheese.
2. When Greg got splashed with water by his dad in the halloween part.
3. When Grag said that it wasn't a diary, it was a journal. Wed 17th Jun 2009

I like the bit when Manny brought Roderick’s heavy metal magazine in to show and tell and it had a picture of a woman in her bikini. HAHAHAHAHAHA, It could improve the jokes a bit more and maybe have a couple of funny looking characters. They shouldn’t change anything else. Wed 17th Jun 2009

Diary Of A Wimp Kid is the best comedy book you could ever read. This is the best book I have ever read so far but I am still looking forward to reading all the other Geoff Kinney spectacular books. The main character of Diary Of A Wimpy Kid is Gregory. Gregory is a determined young boy who's trying to make it through secondary school. Gregory’s best friend is Rowley and Gregory and Rowley knows a guy called Fregley that thinks he's their friend. Rowley’s a smart childish guy who always hangs around with Gregory. Rowley is Gregory’s only friend but they break up because Gregory lies and gets Rowley in big trouble. Gregory has a big brother named Roderick. Roderick is about 15 years old. He's got his own band called Loaded Dipper with his friends. Roderick tricks Gregory alot like one time he woke up at 4:00 in the morning in his school clothes and said to Gregory wake up for school you slept through summer and its 8:30 in the morning. So Gregory got up and went downstairs and made his breakfast then his Dad came down and said "WHAT ARE YOU DOING AT THIS TIME OF DAY MAKING BREAKFAST, GO UP STAIRS AND WE WILL TALK ABOUT IT TOMORROW FRIEND" then Gregory said "Roderick is going school he’s in his room" so they both went upstairs and saw Roderick in he’s in bed sleeping. That’s why I really like this book trust me you should read it. Wed 17th Jun 2009

I thought this was the best book out of all of the 6 books that I read because it was used comedy in the right places and used everyday chatty language which was easy for people to understand. The writing was also quite easy to read so that people who struggle and more able readers could enjoy it.
The main storyline is about friendship and being loyal to your friends. At the start Greg never took the blame for anyone and he never took responsibility for his actions. Gregs best friend Rowley had the cheese touch which is basically like lurgies or jinxies and because Greg had learnt his lesson he knew that he had to repay Rowley for all the good things he had done.
I thought it was the best book out of the bunch.

The diary of a wimpy kid was one of the most fantastic books i have read out of last years and this years books. you are probably thinking why i didn't rate it a ten. well that is because it was good, but i believe it coud be even better as my personall opinion. the main thing about this book is that a wimpy kid is facing all kinds of troublesome events. it think that the book has loads of humour, wich made me laugh. i think the writer is trying to show that the main character in this story is immature. you can tell this by the quotation "cheese touch" of all of you have read the book you will notice that there was a silliy thing going on about if you touch the rotten cheese you get a infection. The only way to vget rid of it is to pass it on to someone else. know we all know that this is a similar game we all played in year three called the lergies or the jexies. we were immature then, but now we have grown up. unfortunately, this is how the children in that grade act. ( remember, that its an american book) stanley, the main character, learns to be more mature in the end and keeps it a secret from everyone saying that he threw away the cheese when infact his freind ate it! i think it could have improved if there was less pictures and more text. in sumarry the wimpy kid was excellent!!. well done Jeff Kenny! I think it was a good book because even though it wasn't a true story it had things that really happen and it was funny. The character Rowley was the only character that needed to improve because he wasnt really that interesting. I would recommend this book, but it wasn't the best book I have read. Fri 12th Jun 2009

This book is about a year time of Gregory's first second grade school year. He really like cartoon because most of the book is covered with drawing. He's trying to be porpular but people didn't see him as a cool person. People think Greg as a wimp. He only has one friend in his school and he's Greg's bestfriend. The chapters at the front of the book are about Greg's lifestyle. It's quite interresting but mostly the exciting parts are at the ending of the book. How he and his bestfriend broke up. How Greg tried to make up with his friend. How he save his bestfriend from being teased. How people said that Greg had the "Cheese Touch". All sorts of normal life activities which used to happen to ordinary kids. His life is like a chain of tides, good days and bad days. I think he's the coolest kid ever. Tue 9th Jun 2009

The down side to this book is that is doesnt have enough pages + the text is quite big as well as the pictures which means there was even more little text! My favourite character is Greg because his diary is so funny and some of the stories in his book are life like. Greg's diary is like a comic except there is no hero or villain just plain comedy. In my opinion this book should win the Southwark Book Award because I'm not someone who loves books but this is a book I could read over and over again and not get bored because you just don't know what's gonna happen next. But on a down side I think that the book could have more pages because the fact that if it was a normal book then it would only have filled about 100 pages. "Diary of A Wimpy Kid" is a funny and enjoyable book for all ages that tells readers about Greg's unusual, but hilarious life. Greg says that he wrote this journal because once he is rich and famous, it will come in handy, so he won't answer the useless questions from the press, about his childhood life. Greg has a younger and older brother, Rodrick (Greg's older brother) is a heavy metal fan. Additionally, he is part of a metal band called, "Loaded Diapers," although Rodrick named it: "Loded diapers." Manni, (the younger brother) calls Greg "Bubby," Greg doesn't like this name and keeps this a secret; he doesn't want to be embarrassed in front of his friends! I think the book is hilarious as well as brilliant. It is about a boy named Greg. He has a brother that always pranks him. One day his brother woke him up really early and said it was time for school. Greg actually thought that it was time because his brother had made his time go foward. Greg went for breakfast and because he was so tired he accidentally dropped the bowl which had cereal and milk in it. His dad came in to thekitchen and told him off. Greg then said it was Rodrick (his brother) who said that it was school time. Dad went and checked Rodrick's room but saw him sleeping and this time he really told Greg off. Greg had a friend called Rowley. There was once a piece of cheese and Rowley had touched it . Becaue of that he had the cheese touch so every one ran away from him. But Greg became his friend. In the end all the bullies forced Greg into eating the cheese and in the end he did. Everyone stayed away from him apart from his friend Rowley.
Favourite part
My favourite part of the book is at the end when all the bullies forced Greg in eating the cheese. He actually eat the whole piece and he ate it in front of Rowley which was really embarrasing to him. He then puked straight away.
Recommend
I recommend this to children who are six years old or above that age. And do you know why, because people any younger who read it they will literally laugh themselves to death. I would give the age rating from the age of seven to the age of thirty-seven.

The blurb is very tempting. Tempting to read 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid'.
The characters in this story are: Greg: He is the main person in this book that gets bullied. Rodrick: He is Gregs older brother and is the exact opposite of this younger brother. Mum and Dad: They always moan (Like most parents). Rowley: he is Gregs best friend util it gets really bad...

‘A diary of a wimpy kid’ is a cartoon diary of a kid that’s treated like a wimp. Greg Heffley is a naïve American boy who thinks he’s more popular than he is. His best friend, who Greg thinks is less popular, is in fact more popular than him. The book is just a push and pull of bad things that happen to Greg. I think it’s a good book but I would only read it if I hadn’t anything good to read. I think this book is probably suitable for year seven to nine year olds, but could also be read by an audience that needs to practice their reading. It is an 8 star because it had a few too many little stories within the big story. Sun 17th May 2009

This easy-to-read book is funny and appealing to it's target audience. Some of the phrases and plots included throughout the story are witty and enjoyable. This would appeal to year 5 onwards but could be read with no struggle by other ages. The perfect sized drawing and the fact that it is written as a diary turns this book into a humorously, subtle, enjoyable book. Thu 14th May 2009

I found this book very interesting and unexpected because the things that happen are very out-of-the-blue. The main character Greg never seems to get what he wants, so when he decides to become the cartoonist for the school newspaper, he was very surprised when he gets the job. Unfortunately the teacher running the newspaper decides to make the comic educational. Then at halloween he gets chased by these kids because he threatened to call the police when they splash him with water. Luckily he gets away but eventually they get him back.Overall this book was great. Thu 14th May 2009

I like this book because it is a funny and mindboggling book. It contains all the premier features in the book e.g. diagrams, pictures and felicitous characters. The book is brilliant because it’s got all the things that a book needs. This book can be read by children aged 9-12 (especially children who love to be entertained). Basically this book is about two mischievous and cheeky kids having the worst plans ever to trick people. They are very funny in the same time.
I will recommend this book 10/10

Diary of a Wimpy Kid was written by Jeff Kinney. I think it is a really good book because it is funny and has cool pictures. Greg gets into a lot of trouble like: knocking down a little kid’s snowman, listening to a rude CD (thinking that the headphones are in but they're not,so that everyone can hear), being responsible for letting his little brother draw on his door.My favourite part is the wrestling unit but I haven’t read it all yet. His friend Rowley is a stupid type of character, but also he is funny as well.

The Diary of a Wimpy Kid really intrigued me because of the cartoons. I greatly enjoyed this book because it made references to a child’s everyday life! Some of the topics that Jeff Kimmey came up with are hilariously funny and at points I needed to hold my breath and count to 10! (Hiccups) E.g. Right when it looked like the chainsaw guy was going to catch us, Mom stepped in and bailed us out. Mom said: “That’s not nice!” He said: “Sorry ma’am!” I really am determined to read Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules! I am giving this book 10 out of 10 because it is really funny, it has some real life topics in it and it is a very enjoyable book. ********** Wed 13th May 2009

Diary of a Wimpy Kid is the funniest book I have read so far!!! The story begins with an introduction about Gregory (Main Character) and his middle school life. It takes place during his six grade year. This book also explains the cheese touching game. (It¡¦s the same as tag but with a different theme.) The first half of the book is about the events Halloween, How to Wrestle and acting in the play Wizard of Oz. Near the end of the book Greg and his friend Rowley ( Greg¡¦s Friend ) break up and Greg gets angry because when he does that Rowley get all the girls to like him and even all the cool boys in the class and then Greg asks Rowley to be his friend again. Hope you try this book to it is so funny!!! ƒºƒºƒºƒºƒº=10 star!!! By Jeff Kenny (The Book) Wed 13th May 2009

This is the most HUMOROUS book I have ever read. I like the bit when they go out trick or treating and Rowley’s mum puts all safety stuff in his costume. Instead of a knight he was a safety geek. I think Greg’s mum is a bit strict because his dad had to come with him for trick or treating because Mannie [his little brother] wanted to come, and his mum said. But it was getting to late so dad and Mannie so they went back to the house. Meanwhile Greg and Rowley were getting chased by teenagers who were chucking water at them. At the house dad was throwing water at people who walked, but dads next victims were Greg and Rowley so either way they were going to get wet. Jeff Kinney should make more comedy books. Diary of a Wimpy Kid, by Geoff Kinney… This book just blew my mind. When I thought this book was going to be good, boy was I right! This is the third best book I have EVER read in my WHOLE life. The images this book pictures in your mind are just astounding. It relates to children and how they react and feel in a way so amazing, it seems as if children themselves wrote it! It understands life at school and how a child’s mind thinks and acts so well! You can almost imagine you are at the scene at the time! I wish I actually owned this book! The book is in Journal/Diary format which really makes an effect but at the same time feels like a story. The book is of the fictional genre but describes situations in real life. The main character, Gregory or Greg, starts his first page in his Diary describing his first day at secondary/middle school. He describes the resident bullies in the school hall as tall, overly muscular, brutes who have already started shaving. This description brings out the humour in the book and almost made me cry with laughter! Greg’s best friend Rowley is almost always by Greg’s side. Rowley really seems to look up to Greg, but to Greg, Rowley is a living crash test dummy! At some points, this can turn out to lead to hilarious events, but at other times, you can feel almost sorry for Rowley. This book is a fantastic book! It made me feel really good to read something that understands a child so well. So humorous. A breath of fresh air. All books should be like this one. A GREAT BOOK! I simply can not stress it enough. If you’ve only read “Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Rodrick Rules”, read the original. If you’ve never read it, read it now, if you have it and you’ve already read it, READ IT AGAIN! Diary of a Wimpy Kid! A legend! Wed 13th May 2009

Diary of a Wimpy kid!! Is Excellent!!! This book I would rate 10/10. It was EXCLLENT it is the best book I have ever read since I last read the Harry Potter books. I never read a diary as good as the Wimpy Kids, the characters are fantastic. My favourite Character is Rowley because he is like me: sometimes he enjoys school, sometimes he does not! He does his homework when he is told. Gregory is just a normal boy at a normal school in North America who writes a diary about his life at his dreadful school. Lots of people bully him and dare him to do stuff. My favourite part of the book was when a boy in his class dared Gregory to eat a spider the size of an orange I laughed out loud. It was so good I would read over and over again!!!!!!! I have read The Shade of Hettie Daynes that book was excellent as well but the Diary of a Wimpy Kid wins the vote by a long shot. Diary of a Wimpy Kid is one of the most unique stories I have ever read. First of all the book starts off with the main character (Gregory) getting bullied. Although bullying isn't really funny, the author (Jeff Kinney) mixed bullying with humour so it make it a book that you can laugh along to. The book is about a boy called Gregory and how him and his best friend Rowley gets into all sorts of situations. But in the end things don't always turn out the way you think. Rowley is kind of a stupid character. He is always making situations worse for Greg. On the other hand Greg is a quick thinker. Whenever Rowley and him are in a situation, Greg is the one who always has to think of ways to get them out of it. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to have a good laugh now and then. The diary of wimpy Kid
The diary of a wimpy kid is the side-splittingly funny ‘journal’ (diary) of Greg Heffley who is a weedy, unpopular boy, stuck in middle school with a bunch of gorilla sized morons and girls who turn their noses up at the sight of him. Greg is left with friends like Rowley, who is 250th on the popularity list and who asks Greg if he wants to play, like a nursery baby!
The only bad thing about this book is that when you reach the end you feel like Greg achieved absolutely nothing! If you don’t read about Greg’s ‘tragic’, wimpy life, then you’re mad! This is by far the funniest diary I have ever read!!

If you were in a grumpy mood it will definitely take you to a laughter mood. If I had a choice of The Dairy of a Wimpy kid book or another book I will choose The Dairy of a Wimpy kid.

'diary if a wimpy kid' is a brillant book for boys and girls of all ages. I think it really sums up an american boy in middle school with everything from the launguage to the use of the famous american cutys or in this book's case the "cheese touch". also i think this is the most funny book i have read in a while this is partly down to the great pictures! this book was the first to catch my eye on the shelf . As soon as i read it i was wetting my pants with laughter!
the Characters are great specially Greg , he gets up to lots of mischief and it is full of nonsense.
the first page really attracts the reader in and temps them to read it more.my favorite part was whene they were at the school play and the teacher says "i'll get you my prettys!" and the child mis -hears her and says"i get that you're pretty!" it really cracked me up!
i enjoyed this book the best out of the other books i have read from the southwark book awards !
thankyou!

i thought the book was entertaining because it was not written like any other book it was written in the style of a diary and the pictures kind of matched the humor of the book and also it takes a very short amount of time to read. Thu 23rd Apr 2009

I liked the bit when the wimpy kid(Greg) goes trick-or treating with his dad and baby brother Manny.
I also enjoyed looking at all the pictures my most favourite picture was Christopler ziegol.
The only thing I disliked is the part when Greg was being rude on the poster he put up in school.
I highly recommed the diary of a wimpy kid. The book was just right Thu 23rd Apr 2009

The story line is about a boy called Jefff who keeps a diary .The book tells you about Jeffs evry day school life and his and family. The book tells you about his evry day adventures and it is just like real life.I liked the fact that childrean could realate to the story.I also liked it on his hallowean adventure.I did not realy like it when Rodwick picked on Jeff.My favorit character was Maney .The words where to easy. The pitures where basic but creative. The book is reasonable to reacomend.
