I enjoyed this book despite not being a book I would choose to read. Just by reading it from different view points ( Matt, Aman etc ) I could easily understand how every character was feeling to make the situation easier to read about ( is it a sad book or a happy book?) The vocabulary used by Micheal Morpugo made me feel different emotions . It is a book which takes you into a scenario which is serious but still can be very entertaining. I give this book 8 / 10. I though the book was entertaining. Sometimes it would be sad. Sometimes it would be happy and sometimes both! The story structure was really good and i liked the way Micheal morpurgo wrote about the past and the present. I thought the use of words and metefors, personification etc was very effective. Book Review on ShadowrnrnCalling all dog lovers out there! This is an amazing book by Michael Morpurgo full of determination and adventure. It is full to the brim with unforgettable characters and one fantastic little dog; Shadow.rnrnPlot:rnIt is about a young boy called Aman who was born and raised in a cave in Afganistan. This book is about their journey to get to England, Manchester with their guide, Shadow the dog. Along the way they come across a nice man who helps them for a bit, a little boy with a big heart and many cruel people. My favorite part of the book is when Matt and his friends protest about Aman going back to Afganistan.rn rnMy recommendation:rnI would recommend this book to children between 9-12. Teenagers might find it boring and little children would find it hard to read. I would rate it 4.5 stars because it is a phenomenal book but could have more adventurous vocabulary. Overall I really liked Shadow (the book and the dog!) Fri 29th Jun 2012

This book was truly inspiring, it informed me about the harsh life that you had to live if you wanted to get out of the country. It was very interesting and I would be more than obliged to recommend this to another person. Fri 29th Jun 2012

I thought it was good because the dog was a good character and so was the little boy. My favourite part was when they had to be evacuated. Fri 29th Jun 2012
