Welcome to the Southwark Book Award Website

Set up in 2007, the Southwark Book Award is a reading project for Year 6 and Year 7 pupils in the Southwark area of London. All primary and secondary schools in the area are entitled to participate, as are members of the popular "Chatterbooks" reading groups. The schools taking part this year are listed on the About the Award page.

The shortlist this year includes a wide variety of books to suit all tastes - just scroll down to the "virtual bookshelf" at the bottom of this page to see the books, or visit the Shortlist page to find out more about them.

Students at Southwark schools can write reviews on the website which can then be read by all visitors to the site.
